Website glitch!

Hey everyone,

In true style, the morning after we give a load of nice people our website’s address… it goes down. Maybe so many people visited that it caused a shutdown? OK, that didn’t happen. I don’t know what happened and our host doesn’t know either, but they’re investigating.

If you’re reading this then we’re back online now!

Stay tuned, later we’ll be posting about The Shindig!

Logo and Public Appearances

So I came up with a potential logo at a ridiculous hour last night while trying out business card ideas. It’s in keeping with the look of the game we’re currently working on. I’ll be adjusting small bits and the font is just a filler for now. Let me know what ye think.

Also we’re going to be attending and giving a presentation at the ShinDig in Dublin on May 15th, http://www.theshindig.org. Unfortunately it’s already booked out. I can’t wait for it, hope to see some familiar faces there. Props to John, and anyone who helped him, for organising the event.

Strawberries and Cream

The latest news from Digital Sideburns is that the game is going well. There’s lots of lovely scrolling and zooming and accelerometer-ing.

I’m also posting some images in this post. I can’t really post any screen shots of the game yet, there’s too much info in them!! =) What you’ll see below are concept images that I’m working on from our tileset. These are what we are calling “special tiles”. We’re going for a bit of a neon look with the game. Any criticism of them is welcome. Also, preferences between the 2nd and 3rd tile design (circles and arrows) would be appreciated!

I’m gonna upload a few more, hopefully tonight. There are another 8 I’m currently designing so I’ll share a few with ye =)

Till next time, take it easy.

Digital Sideburns have been listening to your requests and have updated!

This is just a quick post for our regular readers who have had no content update since we launched the site.

Just want to say that development on our first app for the iPhone and iPod Touch is going very well. I can’t give away too much just yet but for anyone who enjoys puzzles you’ll be very happy. We’ve settled now on all the puzzle types, game control and look of the game so feature creep won’t be a problem. Except we just came up with an excellent idea about 20 minutes ago that we plan to implement but it’s not feature creep, it’s an evolutionary design change…

We plan on releasing a definitive iPhone game, designed specifically for the platform sometime next month. Price is still to be confirmed but you’ll receive a very unique game that will be pretty damn good value for your money.

Expect more updates very soon, including a design change for the site.
